One of the known overnight reservation spot in Tagaytay is the Residence Inn, with its view deck rooms overlooking Taal lake. They, also, have a restaurant, bonsai garden, game room, activity area, playground, souvenir shops, food kiosk and a mini zoo plus a serpentarium, birds aviary, and honey bee farm.
Residence Inn Mini Zoo houses tigers, monkeys, ostriches, miniature horses, camels, goats, peacocks, turkeys, sheeps, yaks, pot-bellied pigs, porcupines, rodents of all kinds and alligators. The serpentarium area has lots of multi-colored phytons, different sizes of spiders, and different fish species, while you can spot some owls, parrots and macaws and other colorful birds in the bird aviary section.
You have to shed the 199php entrance fee, which gives you the opportunity to visit Paradizoo free of charge, in our case, we had been to the latter and we're just claiming our free mini zoo tour in Residence Inn. At the entrance, a long table with packed veggies can be found, each one sells for 20php, these serves as the goody bags that you can bestow to any animal you like.
You can have a photo op with a tiger cub (yes, the one in the picture is just a baby) for 49php, using your own camera, or you can have the service of their official photographer for 139php. Photo opportunity with the albino phyton can also be done at the same price, if you really are a daredevil at heart.
And if all fails to amaze you and your family, try some bonding family time and have an artistic or neurotic photography session all on your own.
When you get tired and saturated of all ideas, recharge and bond with nature, take a glimpse or un-glimpse the bounty that is Taal (or in this photo's case, the fog that silhouettes it).
