Twenty-one years of triumphant journey in the catering business is not an easy feat, that alone should count as one of the many reasons why your wedding, birthday, or office functions should be done with the help of Lina Vitan Catering. Last Sunday, we attended the wedding of my hubby's cousin in Oasis Manila, and there I sampled some of Lina Vitan's scrumptious dishes. The buffet table, per se, was a pleasure to behold, the uniformed staff complete with gloves and chef's hat were all courteous, and the food did tickled my taste buds.
The buffet table's enticement was hard to deter because of the form and aroma of the food lined up waiting to delight food aficionados like us. What to do? What to do?
What else is there to do than to fall in line and dig in. First on my list was the Garden Fresh Salad - a tossed of lettuce, carrot strips, red and green bell pepper, corn, cucumber, pineapple chunks and slices of hard-boiled eggs - complete with two choices of dressings.
Macaroni Salad was, also, served, but, unfortunately, I wasn't able to savor any of it *sigh*, but the good thing is, I had a photo to show off *grin*. It, definitely, looks appetizing to me, but if you're after the taste, your guess is as good as mine.
The first dish that landed on my plate was the Pasta Arrabiata, spaghetti noodles with tomato salsa, parsley and black olives, nothing to raved about but it's good enough.
Next, is Baked Beef with Mushrooms, the beef was tender and flavorsome, I wouldn't know about the mushrooms because I didn't see any *chuckles*.
Chicken Gallantina came up third, this one is like your usual embutido but with a different shape and a tangy aftertaste. I don't particularly like it, but it's just me.
Another one on the menu was Fish Fillet with Tartar Sauce, it's finger-lookin` fillets (see the pictures to get my drift), I don't really eat fish-based dishes, so, I have nothing to say, nothing at all.
And last but not the least, Pork Spareribs Barbecue, this one I like, it tasted the way it sounds, tender juicy spareribs cooked in barbecue sauce. Umm, yummy!
Other Filipino delicacies that I need to mention are: Lechon (roasted pig), cream of mushroom soup(?), and leche flan. Lechon was perfect *doing a Korean-style okay sign*, cream of mushroom was bland and leche flan tasted like that of Goldilocks.
I am not a certified food critic, and I am not, even, a real food connoisseur, all these that I write are of my personal partake on the matter, as I've said before, I am the master of my own taste and me only.
PERSONAL NOTE: I would like to congratulate Mr. & Mrs. Gerson and Jeanne Paras as they enter a new phase in their lives, may their love be fruitful, may their commitment blossom, and may their new-found bliss be eternal and long-lasting. Cheers!
